Osprey Scopes Top Three Weapon Mounted Accessories In 2021.

It has been a record year for the gun industry and Osprey Global. The pandemic driving gun sales and shaky political ground forcing Americans to stock up on guns, bullets, and all things good. There has been a major increase in AR sales and massive growth in gun and ammunition sales in general. With all these new toys comes more Osprey Scopes, AR optics, and Osprey Global Accessories. We Want to do a brief overview of the most popular Osprey Global products for 2021 and how to install them correctly.

Osprey Globals' biggest seller has been various AR optics from the 1-6 to the Compact 3-9 MDG/IRF. We will follow up with an article outlining the most popular optics for your AR. Today we are going to highlight Osprey Scopes' most popular accessories. We will class an accessory as something that you can use, mount or wear to increase your efficiency with your weapon.

Osprey Scopes Top Three Accessories That Mount To Your Weapon And How To Install Them.

Quick Latch Mount:

The Quick Latch Mount (QLMT) is a quick zoom lever that attaches to the zoom dial of your AR optic or riflescope. The Osprey Global quick latch mount lets you zoom in and out through your entire magnification range smoothly and quickly without changing your shooting position or having to double twist your optic zoom ring. You can zoom in and out without a quick latch mount but it increases your on target speed and reduces the amount you have to shift or change your shooting position. Bottom line is that it increases speed and comfort.

We only have the quick latch mount for select Osprey Scopes. For AR optics we have them for the Compact 3-9x42 MDG/IRF and the 1-6 scope. In the Elite range, we have them for both the 8-32x56 and the 4-16x56 osprey scopes. They are also compatible with the entire tactical range. This includes the Osprey 4-16x50 MDG/IRF, the Osprey 6-24x50 MDG/IRF, and the long-range Osprey scope the 10-40x50MDG/IRF. Regardless of which Osprey scope you install it on, be it the 1-6 scope or the long-range 10-40x50, it will help you zoom quickly and efficiently. Many people, myself included, thought they could take it or leave it. Now I feel my Osprey scope is naked without a quick latch mount.

Installation Of The Quick Latch Mount:

It is easy and intuitive to install the Osprey Quick latch mount regardless of which scope you are installing it on. Simply remove the two screws with the allen wrench they come with and loosely connect them around your zoom ring. Then adjust it to where you think it will be comfortable and tighten both screws down.

Tactical Light For Your AR and Laser Combinations: ( AR Platform)

Tactical Lights and Laser Light combinations are great additions to your AR for a few reasons. An Osprey Global Tactical light will allow you to light your path, identify people in the dark and disorientate hostiles. To take it a step further, you can get a tactical light combination like the Battlegrip Laser Flashlight Combo which adds a green laser to the mix.

A tactical light is more useful in an in-home tactical CQB situation as it allows you to identify your target and disorientate them and in most CQB situations by the time you light up the target you will no longer need to aim. When you come face to face with an intruder in the home it will usually be in such close range that you will more likely be unloading in a particular direction like down the hallway. It is important to identify them and to disorientate them which is exactly what a tactical light does.

A strategic laser on your weapon can help de-escalate a situation. If someone comes onto your property unannounced you can level your laser on their chest. They will know someone is serious and is aiming a gun at them. Consider it a warning shot without wasting ammo. If it is a neighbor or friend they will put their hands in the air, state their reason for being there, and then probably call you names. If it is a bad guy they will most likely back off and not come back, searching for an easier target. Long story short a green laser can stop you from having to shoot someone.

We have a simple and effective tactical light for rifles and AR platforms. It is the 600-lumen rifle tactical light and it has a high medium and low power and a disorienting strobe. It can be mounted to any Picatinny rail on an offset mount or anywhere on your AR handguard or quad rail. If you like the idea of having a tactical light and laser combination then the Osprey green laser flashlight combination is the best seller. With a 600 lumen light, disorienting strobe, and dim tactical light coupled with a full-strength rifle green laser, it has everything you need in a comfortable package. It is classed as a vertical grip so it is not ideal for any tactical pistols.

Tactical Light Laser Combination For Your Pistol ( Mini and Full Size):

Osprey Global also has tactical light and lasers for pistols. They have the same advantages as rifle tactical lights. You can identify hostiles, light your way and disorientate enemies. The laser in the osprey mini green laser light combination is the same strength as Osprey scopes rifle lasers. The Mini Green Laser combination is our most popular Tactical Light combination for pistols. The 230 lumens tactical light is a popular option if you prefer a simple light option.

Installation Of Osprey Tactical Light Mini Laser combination:

To Install the mini laser light combination simply loosen the screw and clamp it over the rail on your pistol. Tighten the screw down until it is clamped down tight. Sight in using a bore sight or existing sights.

Battery Installation For The Osprey Tactical Light Mini Laser Combination:

( This will reduce any scratches but a quarter can also be used). Insert the supplied battery and tighten the cap back down. Your tactical light mini laser combo will now be functioning.

Installation Of Osprey 230 Lumen Tactical Light:

The Osprey 230 lumen tactical light is a quick attach/detach tactical light. Pull the quick attach tongue down and slide it on your rails' Picatinny mount. It will click into place firmly. This tactical light will not fit compact pistols.

Battery Installation For Osprey 230 Lumen Tactical Light:

Simply unscrew the front of the tactical light. Insert the battery positive side up and screw the cap back. You will now have a functioning tactical light.

2 Point Sling For AR 15:

Osprey Scopes Tactical sling can be used as a single point sling, a 2 point hunting sling, or a 2 point sling for your AR. Many beginners forget this as an essential piece of gear. A tactical sling makes carrying your gun easy and shifts the weight across your shoulders. A sling will also assist in a CQB situation to help you keep control of your rifle. The benefit of a 2 point sling for AR 15 is that you can use it to brace against to release your forehand to open doors or operate a radio or phone while remaining in control of your weapon and retain the tactical advantage of aiming your weapon one-handed. Without a tactical sling, it would be impossible to retain Close Quarter Combat (CQC) advantage in situations where you need your forehand for your radio, your light, or opening doors.

How To Attach A 2 Point Sling To An AR:

Osprey Global Tactical sling comes with clips at either end of the tactical sling. This lets you click into the sling clips or mounts on your rifle. The clips also allow you to turn your two-point sling into a one point sling by clipping one clip into the half ring on the tactical sling itself. Osprey Global's tactical sling is both a single or double point sling. You may have to purchase Sling mounts or QD sling mounts to attach your slings, but most modern ARs have them ready to go. A hunting rifle has mini clips you may need adapters for but all these are common and frequently come already attached for your tactical sling clips.

Conclusion on Weapon Mounted Accessories:

If you look a the theme of the popular weapon-mounted accessories from Osprey Global you will notice they either make you faster or comfortable. The quick latch mount makes it more comfortable and faster to zoom in. The tactical sling makes it more comfortable to carry your weapon and helps you keep control when the situation requires it. The Tactical light allows you to quickly identify and disorientate your target. If you are comfortable you will be more effective.
