Best Selling AR Optic

Best AR Optic. Period.

Anyone who has swung past the Osprey Global Optics booth has seen this tactical scope. We, as Osprey Global representatives, love it and love showing it to new customers. It is truly a flagship product, it is the first experience for most loyal osprey customers and it dominates over the other products in popularity; consisting of 34 percent of our entire sales. We have over 300 products and ONE scope counts for a third of all our sales! What’s so good about it? That’s what today is all about.

Tactical Gear Purpose Built

It is a scope made specifically as an AR Optic. This is important as most scopes on AR’s are not made specifically for that purpose they just translate well enough to the task, but are actually intended for something else entirely. My dad always says don’t use a rock as a hammer; I think he means; use the right tool for the job. That is exactly what happens when you get the CP3-9x42IRF. There are a few reasons it is ideal for the AR platform. One reason is that it is a variable 3-9 scope. That’s more than most people need on an AR but gives you the capability to shoot as far as your rifle was designed for, up to 500 yards, and sometimes more depend on the build. Most 3-9 scopes are 14 inches long. The CP3-9x42IRF is less than nine inches long earning it the nickname with customers and staff simply as "The Compact."

1-6 or The Compact

Some may raise an eyebrow at the magnification of a 3-9 scope. Some Consider the classic 1-6 scope, known for their critical target acquisition capacity, but we are just getting to the true uniqueness of " The Compact". We built in a 10 inch eye relief to the scope.Osprey Global Optics is an industry leader in eye relief, meaning that you can get on target as quick or quicker than a 1-6 or even a red dot. You don’t have to readjust, close one eye or squint to get on target; just look at your target and pull up your scope and BAM you are on! It is as fast on the uptake as a 1-6 making it ideal for CQB and self-defense while retaining 9 magnification for back end power and longer range shots. As usual with our Elite Series scopes it has the top quality HOYA glass but the big benefit over any of the one power scopes is the objective or size of the bell. It has a large 42ml objective. Most 1-6 have 24mm objectives. The larger objective gives the compact a huge advantage in low light. There is a marked difference in clarity and low light proficiency, over the 24mm,28m or even the 32mm objectives in other the variable one power scopes.

Aftermarkets

Osprey Global have 3 major aftermarkets available for the Compact. There is the QLMT Compact, which is a lever to attach to the zoom and lets you magnify from 3-9 quickly and smoothly. I first thought I wouldnt like it but it makes it so easy and quick that I wouldn't be without it. There is also a Drop Compensation turret available for 223/556 or 308. You replace the standard turret and it adjusts for your drop if you know the distance of your target. We have an entire Blog Article on how to install and use drop compensators. Think of it as a cheat sheet for longer range shooting. The final aftermarket is the Osprey Global Boresight. Osprey Global hold the original patent for the boresight and they make it so easy sight in your riflescope quickly and easily.

Osprey Scopes Review : Round Up

It is the true all-rounder that lets you do anything you want with your AR. It is the work horse and the war horse. In fact this little scope is 50BMG rated, comes with rings and can be compensated on the drop for a 223/556, AK,308 and 30-06. It is ideal for plinking, self-defense, targets, hunting and hogs. In fact it even has a tri color reticle ( R,G,B) making it even more lethal in dark situations. Backed as usual by the bulletproof Osprey Global Optics warranty just in case anything goes wrong and in an affordable price point of under $300, there is zero wonder to me why this scope is so dang popular. I can’t even count the amount of weapons I have had this on over the years and it hasn’t let me down yet. If it isn’t broken, no need to fix it right?
